Biography and Early Career

Thanasi Kokkinakis, born on April 10, 1996, in Seacombe Heights, South Australia, is an Australian professional tennis player. He began playing tennis at the age of 6 and quickly rose through the ranks of junior tennis. In 2013, at the age of 17, he turned professional.

International Success

Kokkinakis gained international recognition in 2014 when he reached the second week of the Australian Open, becoming the youngest Australian man to reach the third round of a Grand Slam event in 10 years. He followed this up with victories over world number 6 Stanislas Wawrinka and world number 2 Novak Djokovic in the ATP World Tour Finals in London.

Injuries and Recovery

Unfortunately, Kokkinakis's career has been hampered by a series of injuries, including shoulder, elbow, and knee issues. These injuries prevented him from reaching his full potential for several years. However, in 2021, he made a strong comeback, winning the Adelaide International and reaching the fourth round of the Australian Open.
